As soon as we hit the middle of November, our family is decorating.
Yes, Christmas is our favourite holiday of the year!
Now, if you follow along you already know how much of a house-a-holic I am. I LOVE everything about decorating the interior of my house and making it as cozy as possible for my little ones.
I want them to remember growing up in a house that felt warm and loving, surrounded by beautiful things that meant something to them. I want to create spaces that they enjoy.
Sadly, I don't have that much of a decorating eye, ahhhhh the irony, LOL!
As you can imagine, that makes decorating and creating those spaces a little more challenging but I love to do it anyway. So you'll notice my decorating style is really just what appeals to me visually (things don't always “go” together) and the rest of it is filled with stuff that I love, things that bring me “joy” as Marie Kondo would say 😉
So back to Christmas…
Christmas is our favorite holiday – it's filled with magic and wonder and I have my own resident Christmas Elf (in Jack) to help make all of our Christmas decorating dreams come true – he's ready to start pulling out all the decorations before I am!
Lucky for me, I have this beautiful, almost 200 year old home that has been lovingly restored and so I have a great house with amazing spaces to try my decorating hand at, which brings me to Christmas.
For the outside, I love putting out simple icicle lights (it's so windy where we are that we keep it pretty simple as we lose so many every year)

Anyways, our decorations never fit a theme – all of the things we have have been given to us in our childhoods, gifted to us or bought over the last 20 years and so I try to use as much of it as I can to create something that my kids feel is wonderful, special and has a touch of magic.

I love that we have Jack's baby tree tradition, our special signature wrapping paper for the year, our yearly book giving tradition and the many, many Christmas movies (Hallmark and not) that we always have to watch!
So I've decided to share some of our pictures for this year's Christmas. I never get the perfect Christmas look I'm after (as I don't have the ornaments or the eye – even if I am staring at a picture to copy) – I seem to miss something in the replication, haha, BUT I love the spaces we create because they are cozy, and a perfect place to cuddle up, popcorn bucket in lap to watch a Christmas movie with the kids.

And now that I've shared my favorite Christmas spaces with you, share yours with me! I'd love to know/see how you decorate for Christmas, what your special family traditions are and what you love to do in this most wonderful time of the year!
